A TRIBUTE TO OUR RACING ROOTS

Sunday April 25, 1926. Targa Florio, Sicily.

The first Maserati badged car roared into the world. With a top speed of 111 mph, it was the first of 43 Tipo 26 cars, launching our glorious racing days.  A defining moment for us, a pivotal moment for motor sports.

TRACK RECORD
TRACK RECORD
Compete to win. Our story is made up of epic victories, records broken and fearless drivers. Like Gigi Villoresi who, in 1940, gave Maserati its fourth consecutive win at Targa Florio at the wheel of the Tipo 4CL. Or the 8CTF’s conquest of Indianapolis, up to the FIA GT victories with the extraordinary MC12. But there’s one car and man that probably left the most indelible mark: the 250F and Juan Manuel Fangio.

THE 250F
THE 250F
With its long nose and squat tail, the 250F has been described as one of the most beautiful single seaters ever built. Ready by the end of 1953, it debuted with a win at the Argentine Grand Prix in 1954: at its wheel was Juan Manuel Fangio.

GLORY DAYS
GLORY DAYS
There’s a moment in time where impossible becomes possible. On the halfway of the German Grand Prix at Nürburgring, Fangio experienced a disastrous pit stop and lost 48 seconds. What happened next is a unique chapter in racing history: the Argentinian ace audaciously drove his 250F to victory through nine record laps in succession. Thanks to this heroic drive, Fangio and the 250F claimed not only the 1957 F1 title but also a legendary place in the heart of motorsports lovers.

SPECIAL COLORS
SPECIAL COLORS
The Levante and Ghibli F Tributo Special Editions are available in Rosso and Azzurro Tributo: two exclusive colors intimately connected to our track tradition. Red is the color of Italian race cars of the past, while "Azzurro" pays homage to the blue of the city of Modena and symbolizes our return to racing in 2004 with the MC12.

LOUD AND CLEAR
LOUD AND CLEAR
The Special Edition’s performance-driven soul exposes itself in a handful of distinctive details. The F Tributo badge leads on the fender, the C-Pillar Saetta logo takes position in the same colour of its body, while yellow-colored accents spin on the 21’’wheels. Yellow brake calipers also hint at Fangio’s 250F 1957 yellow detailed nose. Can you see, hear, feel the beat of the Maserati racing soul?
